APPLICATIONS IN CONSTRUCTION AND BUILDING SECTOR (PERLİSİOL P-12)
REFRACTORY BRICK PRODUCTION
Perlite is used as an additive in the production of bricks and mortars used in boilers, annealing-forging, heat treatment and melting furnaces, which are exposed to high temperatures. Refractory blocks and bricks produced by bonding perlite with clay or calcium cement are light and provide high insulation and save fuel.
Ceramic bonded perlite refractory bricks,
Perlite refractory bricks or concretes with aluminum phosphate binders,
- Perlite refractory mortar,
PERLİSİOL P-12 THERMAL INSULATION MORTAR AND PLASTERS IN CONSTRUCTIONS AND BUILDINGS
It has extraordinary heat and sound insulation properties thanks to the pores in its perlite structure. In buildings; Perlite is used to provide heat and sound insulation between plaster, alum, roofing and floors. It protects against earthquake by reducing the dead load of the building due to its lightness. Since it is an inorganic substance, it does not lose its properties at high temperatures, it prevents the fire from spreading and spreading.
a) Perlite plasters
b) Lightweight insulation concrete with perlite aggregate (cement or gypsum binder)
c) Lightweight construction elements with perlite aggregates
d) Use of perlite as heat and sound insulating loose filler
e) Use of perlite as heat and sound insulator in surface coverings
f) Special purpose perlite concretes made with binders other than cement and gypsum
PERLİSİOL P-12 HEAT INSULATION MORTARS (ON HORIZONTAL SURFACES)
The surfaces on which Perlisiol mortar will be laid should be free of loose materials (mortar waste and debris) that are not attached to the roof or floor surface. The application area should be wetted. Perlisiol mortar is laid by gauging between sections not exceeding 3 - 3.5 m, compacted and the surface is glazed with a trowel or wooden trifoliate. The applied perlisiol mortar should be watered for the first 3 days for a good result and will be ready for waterproofing with Perlisol waterproofing covers 10-14 days later.
PERLİSİOL P-12 HEAT INSULATION PLASTERS (ON VERTICAL SURFACES)
Surfaces where Perlisiol mortar will be laid should be free of loose materials (mortar waste and debris) that are not attached to the roof or floor surface. Ytong gross concrete surfaces should be applied with sand cement slurry before plastering. The prepared Perlisiol mortar should be applied in one layer by hitting from bottom to top. After this layer dries, a second layer can be applied to obtain a thicker plaster. It is necessary to water for 3 days for setting.
MIXING METHOD:
In perlisiol mortar and plasters, the mixing ratio should not exceed 200 kg / m3 as cement. This ratio is obtained by mixing 300 liters of Perlisol (3 bags) and 1 bag of cement (50 kg) in practice.
* 65-70 liters of water to the concrete mixer (300 liters not exceeding for 1 m3 mixture.)
* 1 bag (50 kg) n.p cement is added and a syrup is formed.
* 3 bags (300 lt) of Perlisiol is added and mixed until a homogeneous mixture is obtained.
* Even if the mixture seems dry, the water ratio should not exceed the given amounts.
Perlisiol is then ready to be applied when the mixture has a plastic consistency.
(In this process, a slump of 5-10 cm will occur.)
* Optionally, up to 10% natural sand addition of the mixture can be added to the mixture at the last stage.
* The loss that will occur as Perlisol in practice may cause a collapse of 15-20%.
OTHER AREA OF USAGE
Perlite is used as an additive in the ceramic and glass industries.
- As an additive to facilitate the cementing process in drillings,
- Ship bottoms coating and insulation,
- Removing water pollution from oil residues or other oily wastes,
- By preventing water loss due to evaporation in dam lakes, cities, open water reservoirs,
- filler for packaging,
- Additive filler to plastic foams and plates,
- Filler for making cheap and light plastic furniture,
- In vibration detection,
- As an insulation layer against fire, especially in steel constructions.
